Construction commenced on the PIER in February '09 shortly after I joined to assist as part of the Documentation team with a focus on delivering metalwork tender packages and construction admin in the future. Pier is the first of many buildings which comprise the new NEWSTEAD PPP development. As a result of a change in corporate direction and the economic environment, PIER is also one of the last developments to experience a complete delivery life cycle 'in-house' at MIRVAC DESIGN's Queensland Office, which I am proud to have been a part of.

Upon my commencement at MIRVAC DESIGN, I was immediately placed on the TRD team, documenting Stage 1 buildings; Softstone and Lushington. My Responsibilities focussed upon blockwork, concrete and partition setout, and the close co-ordination with services consultants and construction contractors required during fast tracked tender/construction work processes.

QUT students were tasked with the redevelopment of the School Of Design. Through this process both existing and emerging design education typologies and strategies were challenged.

QUT joined forces with Cancer Council Queensland to address a brief for a replacement Respite Care Facility adjacent to the Mater Hill Hospital in Brisbane. Considering adjacent redevelopments, increasing density, specialist considerations for health related projects and the cultural considerations required when creating sustainable communities.
